Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring to my appointment?

For all appointments for testing and also appointments for consultations with a cardiologist, please remember to bring with you:

  • Referral
  • Medicare card
  • Pension card or DVA card
  • Private Health Insurance card (doctors consultations only)
  • List of your current medications
  • Any previous testing results if you are transferring from another cardiac practice

What should I wear to my testing appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing and closed-in walking shoes to your appointment, and if possible, please wear a 2-piece item of clothing (for example a blouse/shirt and skirt/shorts/pants) as you will be asked to remove your shirt.  For female patients, please note, if possible, do not wear full-length pantyhose to your appointment as ECG stickers will be placed on the lower section of your legs (below your knees).

How long will my appointment take?

The length of your appointment time will vary, depending on which test you are having.  Please refer to the ‘Our Tests’ page for specific information regarding individual testing procedures.

What Fees are involved?

As most of our testing is conducted with the patient as an outpatient (this means you do not have to be admitted to hospital to have your test), you will be charged according to current Medicare rates.  When you make your booking for your test, our receptionist will explain the exact cost of your test at the time of the booking.  Please note, that payment is required on the day of your test.  We accept cash, credit cards or debit cards.  If you are a veteran in possession of a DVA card, you will be covered under your DVA card for your testing.  Please note, that your Private Health Insurance fund will not cover any fees for testing performed as an outpatient.

When will I know the results of my test?

The information obtained from the testing procedure is reviewed by a cardiologist and the results will be promptly forwarded to your referring doctor.  The results will be available in a maximum of 2 working days.
